How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
A day to remember is a independent production but our marketing plan is to pitch a presentation to Netflix and sell it to them. We chose Netflix because it’s very accessible to all age groups and social classes , especially teenagers, our target audience.
Our audience will consist mainly of young people from age 12 to 25 but all people are welcome to watch and simply enjoy it. The purpose of the movie is to invoke passion in the viewers and make them understand that strong feelings are normal are a young age, falling in love and suffering is okay and its allowed. People have romanticized the idea of short lasting relationships bu we have to remember that true love still exist even among young people.
Adults have made young people believe that young feelings are overrated and not real, its not true and thats is why we made this movie , to show people that their feelings are valid and that its okay to dream and work on relationships.
As of distribution , the movie poster will be on every billboard , bus , bus station bench and social media platform and posters. Our intention is to spread it across the globe and make a trilogy out of the movie. After the movie hits success we will create merchandise and a whole brand out of it. As about before the movie, the actors will have a world tour promoting the movie and we will hire a known singer, for example Billie Eilish to create a soundtrack just to link the media industries. We intend to release the trailer of the movie on every platform of social media and crate a hashtag . #daystoremember With this hashtag we want to challenge our viewers to create their own scene in the movie , write a script on it , which will include our main characters but also the person itslef. The person with the best littlle script will win a chance to appear in the film and be a part of the cast. Of course they will require some acting talent but that can be solved with some acting classes. With this idea we intend to push our audience to get involved and pitch their ideas about the movie. We think that this idea will create great advertisment for the movie and also it will motivate young aspiring actors.
