Past paper one extract

Breaking bad extract

The scene starts with an establishing shot that shows us a classroom with many students and a teacher in front of the class who is teaching chemistry.

The mise-en scene is composed from props that make the classroom and the figurines who represent the students.

In the back of the class we have two student who are are couple, they are kissing and interupting the class with no regard for their teacher whatsoever.

We have a close up that shows us that the teacher is starting to get angry because of their distruptance. |The man asks the young boy from the couple to be quiet and move away from his girlfriend but as a sign of resistance he drags the chair loudly across the room and disturbs the class even more.

In the next scene we also have an establishing shot that shows us that the man is now at a car wash where he works as a cashier. Next to him we have the owner who speaks at the phone in Romanian and then he tells our character that he needs to step in at the car washing because they are short staffed.

While our characters washes the car the two students from earlier appear and take his picture just make fun of him and to degrade him as a teacher.

The man drives angrily home and when he arrives he sees that hs wife prepared for him surprise party, he was not pleasantly surprised at all.

The lighting in the whole extract is realistic and kind of cold just to add to the effect that our character has a miserable life and he is not happy at all.
